Execute and Breathe

Sven B. Schreiber (sbs) This US-American band, which owes its contradictory name to a photomontage created by George Logan, is usually compared to "Rush"... well, no, I don't agree... While there are undoubtedly some typical "Rush" chords and sounds, I think the music has much more in common with 80's neo-prog bands like IQ. And just like the latter, those imaginary Scottish elephants don't lose much time with silly riffs and interludes, but get straight to the point in their songs, with much attention to detail. Favorite track: Amber Waves.

Michael Stevens Prog rock - pretty tuneful -takes a bit of getting used to but it's well worth it.

Listen to the gear as it hums the tune Just a song I heard with words that I never knew Load up all the lines they tell me I have to run Execute and breathe once or twice, I’ve begun I can make it all a part of me Pray to no god, just commandments on a screen Once, I was a man but NOW I’m just a different machine Standing in the queue with the rank and the file Upgrade my arms so I can reach the sky Take me apart, open up the case Synchronize my heart so it keeps up the pace Will I always dream but never fly? I fall into line hoping to be seen Once, I was a man but now I’m just a different machine Once, I was a man. Once, I was a child. Once, I knew what I was made of And once I gave that all away for something better Now I know what I’m a slave of Turn myself off and merge into the scene Once, I was a man but NOW I’m just a different machine I’m just a different machine I’m just a different machine Once, I was a man. Once, I was a child. Once I believed all I had seen And once I gave it all away for something better Now I’m just one more machine

Picture of raisins flash on the screen when my brother and I think the same random number dad, can i go play now? Transmitting images images of swirls to my brother's mind and if he gets it then I get a guitar Dad, I'm going to go play now Dad, I'm going to go play now It's not abuse because it's cooler than anything your dad did with you and he never made me drive the car for a driveby on the neighbor's dog and I know that I'm different for this but I wouldn't have been born to anything else No, I'm not giving hints, he's in the other room and what would give this rainbow fractal away, anyway Dad, I'm going to go play now Dad, I'm going to go play now It's not abuse because it's cooler than anything your dad did with you and he never made me drive the car for a driveby on the neighbor's dog and I know that I'm different for this but I wouldn't have been born to anything else He's in the other room the other room

Amber Waves 08:14
Amber waves goodbye to the tower that maintained her Her tears are all run dry and the power that enslaved her has fallen like a cold November moon Amber walks on by and a team of ghosts surround her They're learning how to fly and they wish she could advise them How to soar, soar like a balloon Amber says, Amber says, “I’ll try” and hurls herself skyward Amber eats the sky, delicate and delicious Lost her alibi now that gravity's released her Forgotten, like the chains she used to wear Amber can’t die, immortals live forever In their palace high and govern all the fools we mortals be Fools just like the fool she used to be Too long inside, how many years Your god's getting old girl, it's time to take her place Who lost her eyes, so many years Your god's in a cold world, it's time to take her place Amber's so far from home Free of its hold Her wide eyes reflect a crown When she got to the throne sat heavy in its gold The team of ghosts held her down saying, “You abandoned us, now you are one of us" Amber breathes a sigh and the river flows on I guess she had to cry so the river flows on when the gates locked behind her the river flowed … on Amber waves goodbye Amber walks on by Amber can not die Amber breathes a sigh Amber waves goodbye Amber walks on by Soul eternally dry Amber heaves a sigh No more, would she see the sun ...feel the grass and run ...float against the wind have to start again Amber waves goodbye to the body that enslaved her Her tears are all run dry as the world that maintained her is nothing but a cruel and senseless dream

TFAY 05:12
Is it really just a human race Or is there really something to be won Is it really just the thrill of the chase Or are we only doing what must be done Are we only sailors on the seas of fate Destiny pushing us through til dawn And all along through all of this I don’t know what to do How can I remember To forget about you Are we only devils with mocking laughter Pulling the feathers from our wings Or are we half-mad angels in the rafters Banging our heads to hear our halos ring And all along through all of this I don’t know what to do How can I remember To forget about you To forget … to forget about you

Boxless 04:49
Winter in Kazakhstan | Springtime in The Bush Summer: Tamed the glacier | Autumn on the porch And all the leaves turn gold (oh how I’d want) To put this time on hold (oh how I’d like) To only not forget (oh how I want) Not to let go of it yet Restless in this peace Thoughtless of myself Timeless moments cease Boxless, just as well A month-long job in Ukraine A fortnight on a sled A week-long trek through Wales One night in my own bed And as my dreams unfold (oh how I want) To record them as they’re told (oh how I’d like) To share them with my friends (oh how I want) Not to let it ever end Restless in this peace Thoughtless of myself Timeless moments cease Boxless, just as well Leaves of gold must fall | Trees might hit the ground The forest still remains | Regardless of the sound Restless in this peace | Thoughtless of myself Timeless moments cease | Boxless, just as well

Don't know why it seems all so hard for me It's just a matter of looking and writing down all I see Always trying to talk about the things we find But words can't do it justice and you cannot read my mind There's something like a lighthouse that shines onto the rocks It blooms into a flower grows wings and joins the flocks From the endless plant birds who wander then return To the pile of battered sea craft falling petals teach and learn Never mind the footprints that lie upon your road They've all been carbon dated to a long time ago back to the days when people used to walk way before our bodies had crumbled into chalk I can't begin to tell you of the things I wish I'd seen, filmed and screened upon you a new life inside my dream The diamond wheel reminds me that souls grind down so bright and each fading spark is learning how to fly

Mousetrap 07:00
Listen to the footsteps coming over the horizon! Behold the people of the mousetrap in escape Trotting toward the outland with a heavy golden chalice full of sacramental wine, they’re on their way Supported on the shoulders of the stronger in the tribe they whisper prayers to their god who lives inside. That heavy golden chalice bubbling over in excitement of the freedom and the alcohol combined. Tails wrap around me just like octopus arms retracting to leave a curl in the fur Crawling on their bellies In a peaceful sort of trance the rodents seal me into a silken cocoon. what gods demand when drunken makes the devil laugh trap the meat in slots of moments locked in ever after
